SQF Consultant Development Project - Resources, Training, and Discussion

Welcome!

As a critical part of the growth of the SQF Program, this curriculum has been provided to help prepare you to effectively build relationships with prospective SQF certified sites.

In addition to the training courses and exam, consultants are required to:

  • Participate in weekly online information sessions.
  • Track your weekly progress.

Getting Started

  • Begin by familiarizing yourself with this platform and the required activities. 
  • There will be a Welcome Session on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 to learn about the program meet the SQF Consultant Program leaders, review how to track your weekly progress, and make sure you are ready for the live Implementing SQF Systems training training on December 13 and 14, 2022.

Graded as Pass/Fail Consultants MUST participate LIVE. Viewing of recording is not acceptable in place of live training. The first step in achieving SQF certification is to clearly understand the SQF Food Safety Code. The Implementing SQF System course is designed for those individuals, such as the SQF practitioner, responsible for developing, aligning, verifying, maintaining, and otherwise supporting the site’s SQF food safety System and its culture of food safety. With a focus on continuous improvement, practical activities provide attendees the opportunity to align their existing programs with the SQF Code and build skills that will enable an environment where food safety is a top priority. It is recommended that participants have successfully completed a HACCP training course meeting the definition found in the Glossary of the SQF Code, edition 9 before attending this course. Course Objectives • Improve or algin existing food safety programs to reflect the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code. • Understand the interconnectedness of the SQF programs and how each contributes to an SQF System supported by a culture of food safety. • Outline actions to ensure the success of the SQF System.

The manufacturing examination addresses topics relevant to those sites that pre-process or process product including SQF Food Sector Categories 4, 7 to 22, 25 through 34. The exam is composed of 60 multiple choice questions. The passing score of the examination is 75%.
