Getting Started and Frequently Asked Questions

About Us

As the food industry association, FMI works with and on behalf of the entire industry to advance a safer, healthier and more efficient consumer food supply chain.

FMI brings together a wide range of members across the value chain — from retailers who sell to consumers, to producers who supply the food, as well as the wide variety of companies providing critical services — to amplify the collective work of the industry.

We provide members, from independent operators to the largest national and international players, a unique forum for actively coming together to engage in dialogue, collaboration and problem-solving as a community. We work together closely to understand the topics that matter most to our members and where FMI can provide the greatest value to them.

Our advocacy yields a powerful voice around public policy and serves as a beacon for elevating the food industry’s stature and relevance. Our extensive research, insights and knowledge resources provide an instrumental educational platform for helping prepare and propel our members and their employees forward.

FMI is a champion for the food industry and the issues that make a difference to our members’ fundamental mission of feeding and enriching society. The reach and impact of our work is extensive, ultimately touching the lives of over 100 million households in the United States and representing an $800 billion industry with nearly 6 million employees.

How do I access live seminars?

On the day and time of the live webinar, open Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari on your computer. NOTE: Do not use Internet Explorer.

Login to this site, educate.fmi.org, using the exact same Username and Password you used to register for the event. NOTE: The system is case-sensitive, so the Username and Password must match exactly.

Click on Dashboard. You will find all seminars, products or courses that you are registered for.

From this list, click on the title of the seminar you would like to access. This will take you to the seminar page.

Click the Contents tab to view the session. Live seminars open approximately 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. If you do not see an option to join the seminars, try refreshing your page. When the early login period opens, you will be prompted to click a button that says "Enter Live Event In Progress." On-Demand events are available to view after the live event.

Will I be able to view the recording of a live event?

Yes. Most live seminars are recorded, and all registrants will have access to the recordings. Recordings can be viewed by navigating to Dashboard and finding the seminar you have registered for. Once the recording is available, it will be found on the components tab.

I'm having trouble with audio, what do I do?

If you are not able to hear any audio through your computer speakers, first check to make sure your speakers are not muted or turned off.

The next step is to refresh your screen by pressing the F5 key on your keyboard or clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.

Check your internet connection.  WiFi signal strength can vary causing bandwidth to increase or decrease.  This can cause gaps in audio or video.
